Easter
After the large drifts of Snowdrops have faded in late March the gardens are covered by Scilla bithynica, a dainty relative of the Bluebell that is just as invasive as its wild cousin. With large clumps of Daffodils flowering at the same time Easter is a good time to visit, the orchard in particular is a carpet of blue and yellow.
